Artwork From Hell, Pan-terrible

pantera_metalmagicOur buds at Noisecreep have unveiled a list of the “10 worst album covers from otherwise killer bands.” It’s a pretty good read, even if some of the bands wouldn’t necessarily qualify as “killer” in our book (sorry Helloween, and who the hell are you, Razor?). While the bulk of them look like they were drawn during an extra boring high school history class, others are there for a reason. An Iron Maiden album without the iconic art of Derek Riggs? There are a few of them, but 2003′s Dance of Death was singled out on the list. So was Dragonforce’s video game-like Ultra Beatdown. But our favorite is the first one they listed, Pantera’s Metal Magic. I mean, just look at how ridiculous it is. Everyone knows demon lions don’t wear belts.
