Award Show Battles

This year’s Revolver Golden Gods Award Show is almost finished with it’s live broadcast. We’re sure video clips of each performance will end up online soon. However, we figured we wouldn’t waste any time sharing who won what for those who decided not to watch the award show on Xbox Live or Facebook.

A full rundown of the winners can be seen after the jump. But to say that there were many upsets and surprises is somewhat of an understatement. While bands like Black Veil Brides, Korn, Evanescence, and Five Finger Death Punch won a few of the big awards, Avenged Sevenfold were the biggest winners of the night (taking home Best Live Band and Most Dedicated Fans). However, the biggest upset tonight came with X Japan, who won Best International Band award over Rammstein, Meshuggah, Behemoth, Sepultura and Lacuna Coil.

But that wasn’t the only surprise of the night. We’ll have more of a recap of everything that went down during the fourth annual award show soon. For now, check out the winners after the jump (in case you forgot, you can check out the nominees here).

I was only dispointed with the Black Veil Brides Guitarit’s to be voted as the best guitarists.
X Japan Is pretty cool and im glad that they won, They are pretty good, especially the old stuff (Like most bands)

  • nya~

They are pretty good actually, though i would like if Rammstein as well.

  • gfg

They are both my favorite bands, but i think X japan won becuase of the large fan base they have

  • Decoyx7

Paramore is exactly the god damn opposite of metal.

  • Decoyx7

    I like Rush!!!!!

  • KURENAI

    X Japan the “BIGGEST UPSET”???
oh you’ve got to be fxxkin kidding me.
that’s not only insulting and disrespectful, it’s downright baseless and untrue.
before you go around dissing a legendary band, please do enough research to make an informed opinion on their abilities and fanbase before deciding they are the fxxkin “biggest upset”.

    WE ARE X!!!!!!!

I am sorry but I listened to X Japan after they won and I am not sure why they are even nominated at a show like Golden Gods.  They did not sound heavy…hell they barely sounded like rock.  I am not saying that their is anything wrong with their sound, I am just saying it sound a little like american pop music to me and something that should never be compared to Rammstien.

     so very true there..

  • Killhappy

Riff lord should be mike mcready

  • ShredMeSomeRiffs

I happen to like almost ALL the bands who were nominated for everything and I’ve got to say I think they got most of these right. On the subject of Black Veil Brides, I love their music and their message is a good one but I realise they probably aren’t for everyone, opinions vary and I respect that. But even if you don’t like them, you have to admit their guitarists are extremely good, it’s just a fact. I don’t think Amy Lee should have won best vocalist, while she is good there is definately better out there. Path Of Totality should NOT have won, I think Korn are great but just not that album. Best Bassist and Riff Lord are bang on, no denying that. And, being a huge KISS fan, I’m really pleased Gene Simmons won Golden God. But seriously, stop fighting. So many people are hating on the Black Veil Brides fans, and though you may say “it’s ok because they have shit music taste” that’s just not true. It’s not like they’re all we listen to, as already said, I love almost all the bands nominated. So seriously, let the world have a little diversity, we all love rock music and that’s what we’re here for, isn’t that all that matters?

  • Politikdrummer

Hell ya Avenged SEVENFOLD ALL THE WAY.   I have seen a  lot of concerts and by far, and A7X has defiantly been the best. They put the best shows on because they truly do care about their fans. And obviously, fans care about them =) YAAAYYYY

    This is SUCH a joke.

  • ByeByeBeautiful1

I’m pretty sure you know nothing about bass if you think Nikki Sixx plays only one note. Bass isnt about to be insane and crazy or it would ruiin lead and rhythm guitar , shredding, soloing etc. I play bass and its not hard but its not that easy. You’re probablly the fat chick who cant play an instrument holding a grudge. Not everyones gonna have the same opinion that’s why it’s an opinion. They are like assholesss everyone has one

  • DuDe

The data is clear my friend

  • Osbourne’ Bitch ;)

Mmmm people have a little self respect ;) No. The list sucks. I hate BVB, Ricky Olson should have won that. Some are okay. Slash, Nikki Sixx, And Simmons earned it however.

  • Osbourne’s Bitch ;)

*You’re sweets. Learn your stuff. You obviously care otherwises you wouldn’t have commented. Are you a 14 year old fat chick? ;)

  • Osbourne’s Bitch ;)

Nikki Sixx is a legend honey, get over yourself

  • Osbourne’s Bitch ;)

There you go! Congrats, you’re not an idiot

  • Osbourne’s Bitch ;)

I’ll be looking forward to it ;)

  • Cassidy

  • Alexis

Paramore. haha. that’s a joke right?

  • Alexis

I respect that you like BVB’s music, but no, I cannot admit that their guitarists are any good. They just aren’t.
