Gene Simmons Fall Down, Go Boom

Calling Dr...

Apparently KISS bassist Gene Simmons was briefly hospitalized for dehydration yesterday (24) after fainting at LAX. Gossip website TMZ cites sources close to Simmons that said he hit his head after fainting, cutting his forehead. After being kept overnight for tests, he was released, with doctors concluding the bassist was merely suffering from dehydration. Simmons is 61.

The picture of  Simmons is pretty great for a few reasons. First of all, regardless of any smack talk, it’s good that it’s nothing serious and he was well enough to leave the hospital. Secondly, he doesn’t strike us as Indy or indie. And also, we want to point out the amazing product placement. This picture might do for Panera Bread what Glenn Danzig did for Fresh Step. Aging celebrities, they’re just like us! By the way, we just want to point out that there’s no truth to the rumor that Gene Simmons is suing LAX and the sun for dehydrating him, nor is he coming out with a line of KISS wheelchairs or hospital beds… yet.
