As I Lay Dying singer Tim Lambesis remains behind bars after getting arrested for attempting to hire a hitman to kill his estranged wife. While details continue to unravel, Lambesis’ arrest certainly puts his band’s future plans in jeopardy. That’s why it shouldn’t be surprising to hear that As I Lay Dying has officially pulled out of their previously announced summer tour with Killswitch Engage.

Drummer Jordan Mancino, guitarist Nick Hipa, guitarist Phil Sgrosso, and bassist/clean vocalist Josh Gilbert confirmed the news via the following statement:

“To our fans,

In light of recent events, As I Lay Dying will unfortunately not be taking part in the upcoming tour with Killswitch Engage. Given the circumstances, we feel that it is best for the band to be off the road while the current situation gets sorted. We’d like to thank all of our fans for their ongoing support at this difficult time.

-Jordan, Nick, Phil, and Josh”

This marks the second time the members of As I Lay Dying have issued a statement following Lambesis’ arrest. While it’s not surprising that As I Lay Dying would opt not to tour without the singer and during recent events, it’s unclear whether another band will take their place on the tour (kicking off at the end of the this month). Still slated to join Killswitch Engage on the road Miss May I and Affiance.

UPDATE: Darkest Hour and The Word Alive have been added to the tour.
