Is it just us, or does the main riff in “Modern Day Delilah,” the first single from KISS’ forthcoming album Sonic Boom, bear a little more than a passing resemblance to The Sword’s “Freya?” The new album from Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Not Ace Frehley and Not Peter Criss will be out on October 6. The Sword will have a new album out early next year.
It’s been 20 years since former KISS guitarist Ace Frehley’s last solo album, 1989’s Trouble Walking. While the world might not have been clamoring for a new album from him, that’s what they’ll getting with Anomaly, which will be released on September 15. This beyond cheesy teaser trailer shows that he’s still got a sense of humor, and the snippet of music featured suggests that the album will, if nothing else, fill the need for KISS/Frehley’s Comet fans. Hell, if anything on the new album is anywhere near as good as “Rocket Ride,” we’ll definitely give it a listen.
