Celebrate The Holidays With An Ugly Christmas Sweater From Slayer

Holiday Season In The Abyss

We’ve been vocal about how Slayer has gone overboard on their merchandise. In fact, even Gene Simmons would probably raise an eyebrow. Yet Slayer has somehow found a way to top themselves – and just in time for the holiday season mind you – with their very own ugly Christmas sweater.

That’s right, Slayer’s webstore is selling a tacky Christmas sweater decked out with skulls, pentagrams and the band’s logo. Perfect for the fan that needs more Christmas themed Slayer items, right? At the moment, it only looks like the sweater is available only in the UK scratch that, now the sweater is available in the U.S. for $79.99.

As you can see in the screenshot above, Slayer achieve pure holiday tackiness with their sweater. Is it uglier, though, than Victory Records and Century Media Records holiday sweaters? That’s for you to decide.

With the year just about over and the music industry taking a break, Metal Insider is going to slow down a bit next week. We’ll still be posting semi-regularly, and covering breaking news, but someone’s gotta hit the eggnog and unwrap some presents, and it might as well be us. So deck a hall, trim a tree, light a menorah or do whatever it is you do while everyone else is celebrating the holidays, and we’ll catch up next week. Thank you all for your continued readership and look for bigger and better things from us in 2012! Satan bless us everyone!

Because It’s Not Christmas Without A Slayer Light Show

You may recall YouTube user lacycute20’s first Slayer Christmas light show, where he synchronized his holiday lights to “Raining Blood” (he also did a light show for Pantera that year). Well, Christmas is just around the corner, and luckily for us the SoCal fan is back at it with another Slayer Christmas light show. This time, he syncs up a spectacular Christmas light show with the song “South Of Heaven.” We especially like the glowing devil horns and evil singing snow man he added to this year’s display. If your Slayer ornament and stocking isn’t enough to scare off jolly St. Nick, then this will do the job.

But he doesn’t stop there. In addition to a second Slayer light show, he has also uploaded Christmas light shows for Machine Head’s “Imperium” and Kittie’s “Mouthful Of Poison”. You can check out his Christmas light show for Slayer’s “South Of Heaven” above, while the Machine Head and Kittie light shows can be seen after the jump. Read more »

Celebrate The Holidays With A Slayer Stocking And Ornament

Holiday Season In The Abyss

What better way to scare the hell out of Santa Claus when he’s coming down the chimney to give you gifts than with Slayer holiday apparel? The band is currently selling holiday ornaments and stockings (as seen up top) exclusively via their webstore. We already know one gift we could stuff in the Slayer stocking. So this holiday season, Slayer fans better watch out, better not cry, and better not pout, or else Kerry King is coming to town. And unlike another chubby bearded guy, he will kick your ass.
