We continue to look at production of the Iron Thrones EP with a look at guitar and bass tracking.
Steve Henningsgard takes us through guitars while Curtis Parker will jam some fat bass for us. Of course, Will Putney continues to oversee things in the studio for Machine Shop Productions. Click either image to watch.
The No Label Needed series will be holding a chat with producers Machine and Will from Machine Shop Productions is at 8pm EST tonight. You can view the stream below.
The chat is going to be with the crew of Machine Shop Productions. This includes Will Putney (Reign Supreme, Upon a Burning Body) who produced and recorded Iron Thrones, the No Label Needed, contest winner and “Machine” (Lamb of God, King Crimson, Clutch) owner of MSP. They will be discussing and answering questions about their experience with Iron Thrones and all that it exemplifies. They will discuss the idea of the “Do It Yourself” attitude and approach to making and breaking a band in 2010 and beyond. They will also share insider techniques and secrets to DIY recording with basic consumer recording gear.
One of the prizes for the No Label Contest & Series winner (Iron Thrones) to receive was a photo shoot with a professional photographer. Metal Insider chose Jeremy Saffer because of his history shooting bands like Every Time I Die, All That Remains and more. You can see an example of the photo’s on the bands MySpace.
This is one of the shorter videos for the No Label Needed Series. Click the picture and enjoy the day and photo shoot with Jeremy and Iron Thrones.
Pete and Curtis from Iron Thrones sat down with Jamie Roberts and Leo Lavoro from Big Machine Media to get some pointers on promoting their band. Head over to the No Label Needed page for the info!
With the aid of Revolver’s Hottest Chick in Metal & In This Moment vocalist, MARIA BRINK, and BLASKO, Ozzy Osbourne’s bassist, Iron Thrones learned the importance of image in the music industry and recently took their style to the streets on a shopping trip in downtown Manhattan.
