Tom Morello has been a very vocal supporter of the Occupy movement, having performed at numerous protests. That’s why it shouldn’t come as a shocker to hear that he joined the Occupier’s march on Wall Street yesterday (May 1) in honor of May Day, aka International Workers’ Day. In fact, the Rage Against The Machine guitarist/ activist went one step further, assembling a group of guitarists and musicians for the “Occupy Guitarmy.” If the title wasn’t clear enough, its essentially Morello and a bunch of protestors marching together in New York City while playing music.

Whether you’re in support of Morello’s actions or think it’s as annoying as Mustaine’s political/religious rants is for you to decide. Us personally, though, we’d prefer to hear Morello playing protest songs over Ted Nugent talking about politics. You can watch the Artisan News’ coverage of the ‘Occupy Guitarmy’ above, while Fuse TV’s interview with Morello can be seen after the jump. Read more »

With so much attention (or lack of it depending on which news outlet) being given to the recent Occupy Wall Street protests, it’s not so surprising that Rage Against The Machine guitarist/political activist Tom Morello performed for protestors. After playing for Occupy LA last week, Morello continued to show his support by performing for the Occupy Wall Street protests yesterday. Morello’s acoustic performance may not have caused as big of a scene as Rage Against The Machine’s last visit to Wall Street, but still attracted large attention to the Occupy Wall Street’s cause.

Video of the guitarist performing “This Land Is Your Land” at Liberty Plaza in NYC can be seen up top, while more clips of his performance can be seen after the jump. Read more »
