Nikki Sixx’s ‘The Heroin Diaries’ Getting Turned Into A Broadway Play

Chorus Girls Girls Girls

Were you a fan of Nikki Sixx’s memoir The Heroin Diaries: A Year In The Life Of A Shattered Rock Star, and the 2007 “soundtrack” Sixx:A.M. released to coincide with it? Well then you might be interested to learn that the Motley Crue bassist is planning on turning his book into a Broadway play.

Sixx confirmed the news via posts on his social media accounts, saying the following:

“I’ve been getting asked this a lot lately…The answer is: Yes, The Heroin Diaries book is being turned into a Broadway play.

More news to follow in the next few months….Were getting pretty far down the road…We hope for a late 2013 or early 2014 for it to open…”

Though he seems to be careful about using the term “musical,” we’d be rather surprised if the soundtrack didn’t play some sort of role in The Heroin Diaries stage production. And seeing that Sixx:A.M. (also featuring GN’R guitarist DJ Ashba) produced some pretty decent songs, we wouldn’t mind that too much. It’ll also be interesting to see how the play reenacts Sixx’s near-death overdose. Meanwhile, fans are still waiting for a movie adaptation of The Dirt.
