Collaborations

We’ve been looking forward to Converge’s new album the minute it was announced that they had entered guitarist Kurt Ballou’s Godcity studios in Salem, MA. Now, though, we have another reason to get excited for the band’s new record.

This past weekend, the Mass hardcore metal group confirmed via Facebook that the new album will include at least two very special guests. “Tompa came by the studio with Danny Lilker to do some recording w/ us. Go see Lock Up on tour now!!!,” Converge posted last Friday night (February 10). That’s right, At The Gates/Lock Up singer Tomas “Tompa” Lindberg and Nuclear Assault/Brutal Truth bassist Danny Lilker (who is filling in on bass for Lock Up) will be making guest appearances on the new Converge album. And just in case you still don’t believe it, the band even posted a picture of Tompa with Jacob Bannon (as seen above).

First, we can’t believe that we didn’t see this until now. And second, we can’t wait to hear what Converge recorded with Tompa and Lilker. And here we thought the new Converge album couldn’t get any better. No word on exactly when the new album will be released, but earlier reports suggest late Spring/ early Summer of this year.
