Listen To “The View” Without All That Pesky Lou Reed

Since Lou Reed & Metallica’s “The View” was released, it’s been pretty polarizing. Actually, who are we kidding – most people hate it. While Lou Reed is certainly a legendary vocalist, many have questioned the idea of him collaborating with Metallica, and “The View” doesn’t do much to dispute the fact that it’s initially an odd pairing. So much so that a Metal Insider reader [thanks Destin!] created his own edit of the song sans Lou Reed. Without Reed’s vocals, “The View” becomes a charming two-minute Metallica song about a table.

UPDATE: So the video has been removed by Vimeo. While we’re trying to get the video back up, you can still listen to “The View (minus Lou Reed)” in the stream below:
