While you’ll be getting a full recap soon with Metal by Numbers, we thought it was worth mentioning that with the release of their sixth studio album, Immortalized, Disturbed have one again debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. According to Billboard, this feat makes them “only the third group to have achieved five consecutive studio efforts to open atop the list.” They’re in partially good company, as Metallica and the Dave Matthews Band were the only other two to achieve this.

Immortalized was released on August 21st via Reprise/Warner Bros. Records, with 98,000 album sales in the first week. It should also go without saying that in debuting at #1 on the Top 200 charts that it also took the top spots on a few other charts as well– Rock Albums, Hard Rock Albums, and Alternative Albums

In a recent interview with Loudwire (as transcribed by Blabbermouth), frontman Dave Draiman was quoted on the state of rock music, saying “I don’t think rock is dead by any means. And if we have anything to do with it, we’re going to pump life support into this thing as much as possible. Which I don’t even think it needs; I don’t think it’s on life support.” It’s a little hard to dispute his claims, he does have an album sitting on top of the Billboard Top 200 charts after all.

It’s also worth noting that Sweden’s Ghost hit #8 at the same time with their album Meliora, just breaking 29,000 unit sales.
