New & Noteworthy, November 24th, 2017: Thanksgiving New Release Food Coma

Posted by on November 24, 2017

New & Noteworthy is a weekly column in which we highlight some of the newest rock and metal releases coming out each week. This week is a pretty small one for studio releases, but we still are getting a new Taake album and a DVD focusing on Dimebag Darrell. If you would like to check out last week’s New & Noteworthy, you can do so here. If you want to see last week’s sales numbers, check out Metal by Numbers. Studio Releases

Taake, Kong Vinter (Dark Essence Records)

Kong Vinter is the seventh full length studio album from the Norwegian black metal group Taake. It was recorded and produced by Bjornar Nilsen at his studio in Bergen, Norway. Considering that the band wrapped up a North American tour just a few months ago, I think it’s unlikely that there will be one in support of this album. I’ve been wrong before, and I wouldn’t mind being wrong about this. Kong Vinter is also available directly from the band via Bandcamp.

Dimebag Darrell Abbott, Dimevision Vol. 2: Roll With It Or Get Rolled Over (DVD/CD) (Metal Blade)

Eleven years since the release of Dimevision I, the Vinnie Paul Abbott produced video series returns with Roll With it or Get Rolled Over. The release features home videos of the legendary Pantera guitarist Dimebag Darrell Abbott, as well as unreleased song demos Dime had recorded before his death. They raised money for the project by Crowdfunding the release, with some packages including old memorabilia owned by Dime, including plaques, clothing, and his old CPAP machine. You can watch the latest trailer for the DVD here.

Bring Me The Horizon, Bring Me The Horizon 2004-2013 (Epitaph)

It’s a Bring Me The Horizon greatest hits album. I told you it was a slow week.
