carcasssurgicalcoverMetal Insider’s Top 5 is a column where we count down the top five of…well basically anything.

Last week, our buds at Metal Sucks and Noisey debated whether or not the reunited At The Gates should make their way back into the studio and record a new album. Then this morning, The Haunted released its first new song since revamping its lineup (featuring the return of vocalist Marco Aro and drummer Adrian Erlandsson). That got us thinking about what other recently reunited bands we wish would commit to making new music again. After all, if last year’s comeback albums from the likes of Carcass, Gorguts and Broken Hope proved anything, it’s that there is such a thing as life after death.

So with that in mind, we decided to compile a list of bands we wish would make a “reunion album.” However, in order to be eligible for this, the band had to either:

1) Reunited for at least one show in the past 10 years, but has yet to release a full-length of original material

2) Announce plans for reunion shows slated to take place in 2014

So click on the page numbers below to see which five recently reunited bands (along with a few honorable mentions) we wish would head back into the studio.
