Since Metal Insider and Clutch’s label Weathermaker Music share a building, we recently caught up with label head Jon Nardachone, where he unboxed and showed off the double vinyl version of their most recent album, Strange Cousins From the West. The package will come with a code to download the album, which features two songs that weren’t on last year’s CD release: “Metroliner Special” and an extended version of “50,000 Unstoppable Watts.” The album is available for pre-order now at indiemerchstore.com, and will be out on 3/9. There’s also a clear vinyl version that they’ll be selling on the road, which you’ll also see in the walkthrough.

Scion Rock Fest will make a triumphant return, this year on March 13 in Columbus, OH. It’s another stellar package, with Cannibal Corpse, Shrinebuilder and Voivod headlining, along with over 20 other bands rounding out the bill.
Best of all, entry is completely free! But, RSVP’s for the event have already been maxed out. Lucky for you, Metal Insider has secured a pair of tickets for one lucky winner!

The Headbanger graphic channels the loud and reckless spirit of Ironheade’s loyal foot soldiers. We worked with James Callahan who has worked with modern day Thrash heroes Municipal Waste, to bring a scene of pure metal aggression to life, creating an epic Stage Battle on your chest. Headbangers pulverize puny Glam Rockers in the pit as a band of Brütal characters including Mishka’s own Cyco Simon deliver the decibels.
The second shirt features a Razorgirl charging forward on a furious Fire Beast. The graphic modernizes the epic girl meets monster designs used by so many early heavy metal bands. We worked with Daniel Mumford who has worked with Black Dahlia Murder and other metal greats, to flesh out a 21st century take on a classic seventies Metal fantasy using two of our most iconic characters. All that’s missing (and thankfully so) is a glitter heat transfer on a ringer tee.

The Saw VI soundtrack is a solid metal compilation, featuring music from a whos-who of metal including Hatebreed, Shadows Fall, Converge and Every Time I Die, among others. To commemorate the Trustkill soundtrack, and movie (in theaters now!), the Saw VI tour has just been announced.
Soundtrack includees Mushroomhead, The Flood and Ventana will be undertaking a midwest tour in support of the album and movie in December, and Metal Insider wants to get you in! To be entered, just leave a comment, along with the city you’d like to attend the tour in. A winner picked for each city will also receive a copy of the Saw VI soundtrack. It’s horror movie season, and with the sixth installation of the ridiculously successful Saw franchise opening next Friday, Lionsgate and Metal Insider want to hook you up! The same day the movie opens, Metal Insider is having their first Annual CMJ Listening Party. There will be plenty of Saw VI goodies on hand, as well as an exclusive listening party for Slayer’s World Painted Blood, a screening of their creepy DVD extra Playing With Dolls and a showing of the Gallows DVD Grey Britain. This is an RSVP-only event, which means it’s closed to the public.
However, we’ve got your ticket in to this exclusive event! All you have to do to enter is e-mail saw6 [at] metal insider [dot] net with your name and why you deserve to go! If you place or link the above trailer on your social networking site (MySpace, Twitter, Facebook, etc) and send us a screen cap, you’ll be entered twice!
