Win A Pair Of Tickets To Any Date On Hail!Hornet’s Tour

Contests

As we’ve said before, we’re very proud to be co-sponsoring Hail!Hornet’s upcoming U.S. tour. Not only is it the Southern metal supergroup’s first ever tour in the U.S., but direct support will come from Zoroaster and each night will also include a special screening of Rwake lead singer C.T.’s documentary Slow Southern Steel. And now that we’re a week away from the tour’s kick off in Wilmington, NC, we want to give one lucky reader the chance to win a pair of tickets to any night on Hail!Hornet’s tour.

That’s, if chosen, you’ll win a pair of tickets to the date of your choosing. How can you enter for the chance to win a free pair of tickets, you ask? Well, C.T.’s documentary Slow Southern Steel is about southern metal. So with that in mind, all we want you to do is to tell us your favorite metal band to hail from the mighty South and which stop on the tour you want to attend in the comment section below. We’ll be picking one comment as the winner on Wednesday, January 18. Multiple entries will be disqualified, and the contest is open to U.S. residents only (sorry, rest of world).

So what are you waiting for? Enter for the chance to win a pair of tickets to any date on Hail!Hornet’s upcoming tour. Then make sure to check out the tour dates to see whether they’ll be hitting a town near you.

My favorite southern metal band is either Mastodon or Eyehategod… but there are so many other good ones it’s hard to choose. Also I’d like to see the DC date.

  • Max Bruce

My favorite southern metal band is Eyehategod, they set the standard for sludge at everyone is aiming to achieve. However if I was to pick a 2nd favorite Southern band it would have to be Buzzov*en. Reverend Dirtkicker and Dixie (Also in Hail!Hornet) really made something special. If I do win, I would like to see the NYC date

I would have to say my favorite southern metal band is Dark Castle, not only is the singer beautiful but they put on a great show. Something about the slow sludge metal, with the awakening thunder of doom metal clashing together makes me weak. If I win,I’d got to the Atlanta date.

I got to see Buzzov•en on their tour with Cough, and I was absolutely blown away. The energy, the dense, crunchy riffs, the full-on screams and shouts, and Dixie jamming away like a madman has left a huge impression on me. To top it all off, the guys were nice enough to let me hang out with them afterwards and share a peace pipe. We talked about how the venue might be haunted, and how they felt when getting up on stage. Definitely one of the best nights of my life, one I won’t soon forget.

Contest winner or no, I can’t wait to see Dixie again in Hail!Hornet when they come by Nashville next week!

    EYEHATEGOD, Austin, Tejas

The ultimate band hailing from the south with gigantic sludge riffs has to be the might Crowbar! Kirk and co. have not only delivered the goods but have kept a longevity that is rare for many bands. There are many great bands such as Acid Bath, EHG, Weedeater, etc. but Crowbar has kept it going year after year. If I per chance get the opportunity at tix, they would be for Memphis, a southern institution for music.

hands down.. WEEDEATER!!! with such crushing tone and destroyed vocals from one dave “dixie” collins.. a 3 piece band unmatched by any other for the energy and sheer terror they reign while on stage.  up front at every show in charlotte.. even had a weedeater weekend.. seen em at ground zero thursday night and went up to wilmington to see them again sat night on the last night of their tour.. also the mighty SOURVEIN. they have created the band with perfect tone (super fan of slow heavy riffs). sourvein kicks you in the balls and spits in your face with riffs that will rattle your organs.. T-roy’s style of vocals matched with the sludgy riffs of the band will make any on wanna trench threw a swamp and swing a battle ax in someone’s face.. and not to forget BUZZOV*EN  not having the privilege to see them before 98.. i did see them in 11 in charlotte nc on their 1st night of their reunion tour.. i even let kirk “lloyd” fisher borrow my laney half stack for the show. and gave him a metalzone pedal.. what ever i can do to push these southern bands i will.. as i was born and raised here in this great state of NORTH CAROLINA.. i follow nc music, also love for them nola bands..
