The good folks at Shadows Fall and Ferret Music were so excited about the bands upcoming Retribution (and their first national TV performance on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon), they wanted to do a special contest for the fine readers of the Insider.
We’re giving away one copy of Retribution (in stores 9/15) and an awesome t-shirt! What do you have to do to win? Tell us your favorite ever late night performance in the comments section! Make sure you have a Metal Insider account with a correct e-mail address so we can contact you. We’ll randomly pick a winner on 9/16. Double entries will be deleted and sorry, but US residents only!

if we’re just talking Jimmy Fallon, then yeah, Mastodon wins. If you mean “late night” in general, Tears For Fears on Carson Daly(I was there) or FEAR on SNL way back, stagedivers and all. Also, Sinead O’Connor on SNL, tearing up the pic of the pope during her performance.

It was Shadows Fall, Sworn Enemy, and I’m not sure who else. it was at the Blue Note in Columbia, MO a few years back… I got to meet some of the guys from Sworn Enemy.. After meeting them, they took us backstage because we were trying to meet Shadows Fall, but everyone in the band had already left, except for Brandon and his amazing dreads!!!! We chilled with them and drank a few beers before our 2.5 hour long car ride home!!! It was sooooo amazing, and so is Shadows Fall!!! love em!!!!!!!1

I am gonna show some age and say my favorite is from WAY back in the very early 90′s when Anthrax performed on the long forgotten Arsenio Hall Show.
