Thy Art Is Murder respond to Disney ban the best way possible

Posted by on September 9, 2015

Could it have been the banned cover art showing a child suicide bomber? Or maybe just Thy Art is Murder’s name alone? Either way, the band has become the latest group to be banned by Disney, being prevented from playing the House of Blues venues at Disneyland and Disneyworld in Anaheim and Lake Buena Vista, respectively. And they reacted the way Machine Head wanted to when they were banned – by coming out with a rad T-shirt commemorating it. The Bad Brains-inspired t-shirt shows a lightning bolt striking the Magic Kingdom castle with “Banned in Disney” written on the lower right hand side. Here’s what the band said about it on Facebook:

We are very sorry to announce that due to the narrow minded, corporate censoring goons over at Disney, we will be unable to join Parkway Drive on their upcoming dates at Anaheim on October 30th and Orlando Lake Buena Vista on November 23rd. We are aware we haven’t played Florida for quite some time now and we are itching to get back down there and play for you guys.

Thank you for your understanding and be sure to pick up one of these limited shirts to show your support. This is the first time they’ve been printed in over two years since we were last banned from playing a show on Disney grounds and will only be up for a short amount of time. Get it!

You can pick up the”Sorry Orlando” shirt here.
