Stolen metal vest found in Macy’s display three years later

macys_maniakIf the idea of an authentic metal vest in a display case in the midtown Manhattan Macy’s seems off to you- you’d be right. Something is very off. Most likely because the vest isn’t theirs. How the department store managed to actually get ahold of the battle vest is still unknown, but what’s actually insane is that it belongs to Meshach “Attack” Babcöck of the band Maniak, and made it’s way across the country.

The vest was stolen from him about three years ago at a high school battle of the bands in Oregon. This vest somehow made it across the entire country. When he found out where it was, he launched a Facebook page in hopes of getting Macy’s attention. He says they’ve been cooperative so far, and he’s hopeful they’ll return it.

Take a look for yourself. It’s the same vest.

It’s not surprising that Macy’s actually responded. They don’t want to seem like thieves, and no brand wants bad publicity.
