According to the Chicago Tribune, a man and woman were stabbed at last night’s (8th) Rancid and Dropkick Murphy’s show in the Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island, Chicago. Police said the man (29) was stabbed in the neck and face, and the woman (34), suffered a cut to her abdomen. Both were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital and their conditions remain stable.

According to the police, a suspect is currently in custody and charges are still pending. The argument broke out around 9:30 PM in the bar area where the attacker eventually pulled out the knife and stabbed both victims. Witnesses noticed the attack occurred within the pavilion gates and a few noticed strange activity from the police but no one seemed affected by it. Concert goers revealed the security staff did use metal wands and asked everyone to empty their pockets.

The show did continue on until the end and many in attendance had no idea the stabbing took place, nor expected something like that would happen. We recently attended their show in New Jersey, and it was an evening filled with beer, fun, and punk rock.
