It’s been known that Korn will be playing this year’s Mayhem Fest since long before the lineup has been announced. And as one of the headliners, you’d think they’d be front and center when it comes to coverage for the seventh incarnation of the fest. Apparently, someone forgot to tell Revolver, however. Yesterday, the band’s frontman Jonathan Davis took to Twitter with the rhetorical question “What’s missing in this picture.” Attached was the cover of the most recent magazine featuring illustrations of many of the singers of bands appearing on the festival both recognizable (Avenged Sevenfold’s M. Shadows, Ice T of Body Count, Matt Heafy from Trivium, the Mushroomhead dude) and not as immediately recognizable (singers of Miss May I and Asking Alexandria, Corpsegrinder, Suicide Silence’s Eddie Hermida. Not appearing? co-headliner Davis.

Granted, they can’t put every band on the cover, but you’d think that a co-headliner would make the cut, as would someone as recognizable looking as Jonathan Davis. None of this makes sense until you remember that Korn was initially set to play the Revolver Golden Gods Awards earlier this year, but suddenly backed out. That happened several years ago as well in 2012, despite the magazine naming the band’s The Path of Totality their album of the year. So is there bad blood between the magazine and the band? Without knowing anything other than what we just laid out, we can’t say, but it’s interesting for sure.
