Yngwie Malmsteen To Unleash The Fury On Jimmy Fallon

One is a Swedish neo-classical guitar virtuoso most famous for his band Rising Force. The other, Philly’s premier R&B/hip hop collective, and arguably the best house band around. What will happen when the two collide? We’ll find out on Thursday, February 3 when Yngwie Malmsteen sits in with the Roots on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

It’s a great and relatively new development to see hard rock/metal bands on late night TV, but between Fallon (who has brought Megadeth, Mastodon and Slayer on among others) and Jimmy Kimmel Live!, who’s had Deftones, Metallica, and Rob Zombie on, it’s becoming more commonplace. It’ll definitely be more interesting than playing bingo to watch the world famous Roots crew go riff for riff with Malmsteen, who will be sitting in for the entire show. . This isn’t the first guitar virtuoso Fallon has had on – Joe Satriani has also sat in. Late Night With Jimmy Fallon airs on NBC at 12:35AM EST.

In other Yngwie news, the Swede shredder unveiled his own Marshall head last week at NAMM. The Signature YJM100 is a 100 watt valve head based on the power and tone of the ‘Holy Grain’ 1959 Please head.

Let’s hope they don’t try to do a cover of Yngwie’s Relentless instrumental–Captain Kirk would get seriously hurt.

Yngwie runs rough shod over your favorite guitarist and it absolutely doesn’t matter who it may be. Long live the Maestro. Looking forward to seeing him on tour playing all of the impossible solos off of Relentless.

the info on comcast says Ricky Martin is performing…if I stay up for Ricky Martin and there is no Yngwie, there will be hell to pay…Hell to pay I tell you!
