As we mentioned a week or so ago, Sam Kinison was pretty awesome. Now the deceased comedian is the subject of a documentary airing this coming Saturday (1213) on Comedy Central, with the DVD arriving in stores four days later(16). Back From Hell: A Tribute To Sam Kinison features comedians that knew him and were influenced by him (Chris Rock, Denis Leary, etc.) speaking about his comedy and how he embraced the hedonistic rock star lifestyle, and there are plenty of classic performances of him as well. Hell, Anthrax didn’t sample him in their classic “I’m The Man” for nothing.

Since Sam loved metal and drinking, Metal Insider is going to be presenting a special screening of Back From Hell at New York City’s Idle Hands Bar on the day the DVD comes out. Obviously, it’s a 21+ event, but there will be drink specials ($5 for a can of beer and a shot?!) and door prizes. So if you’re in NYC and looking for something to do after work next Tuesday, come on out and hang with Metal Insider. Click on the image for details.
