That’s right, Metallica have confirmed that they are holding their own two day festival in Atlantic City, NJ on June 24 and 25 at Bader Field. Dubbed the Orion Music + More festival, Metallica will headline both days of the festival will also be playing The Black Album AND Ride The Lightning in their entirety! While more acts (which have been hand picked by Metallica themselves) will be announced soon, but so far the following bands are set to perform:

Arctic Monkeys

Avenged Sevenfold

Modest Mouse

The Gaslight Anthem

Cage The Elephant

Fucked Up

Best Coast

Hot Snakes

Titus Andronicus

Gary Clark Jr.

Lucero

Roky Erickson

The Black Angels

The Sword

A Place to Bury Strangers

Liturgy

As we speak, the members of Metallica are holding a press conference on LiveStream (which you can see above) while a website for the festival has gone live. But a MET Club Ticket Presale will be held on February 8 at 10am with a special MET Club presale price of $125 for two days. Public sale begins Fe11 at 10am. Early bird tickets will be $150 for two days, or $175 if you wait to buy them. While it says that the band hand-selected the acts, it seems like their management, Q Prime, also had a hand in it. There are a handful of metal bands (Liturgy, The Sword, Avenged Sevenfold), but there’s a lot more indie-rock that would’ve been more comfortable playing a Dave Matthews Band festival. It still should be a good time for most fans though.

Update: The LiveStream conference is over. While we’ll keep you posted as more develops, you can also check out the Orion Music + More festival’s website for more details.
