Festivals

In past years, Riot Fest was a punk rock festival that took place all over Chicago. It has since evolved into a multi-genre festival and carnival, set to take place in Humboldt Park with events at Congress Theatre and Cobra Lounge. And last night’s announcement of the first batch of bands confirmed for the September event proves that this year’s Riot Fest Chicago edition (not to be confused with the Philadelphia version featuring Refused) might be their most diverse yet.

Heavier bands like GWAR and August Burns are joining an interesting mix of acts, such as Rise Against, Iggy & The Stooges, Elvis Costello, The Offspring, Coheed And Cambria, A Day To Remember, Gogol Bordello, Dropkick Murphys, The Jesus And Mary Chain, The Gaslight Anthem, Chiodos, and many others. As if that wasn’t enough, there are still many more bands and artists left to be confirmed. Equally impressive is the three day festival’s ticket pricing, with multi-day passes starting at $36 ($18 a day).

You can check out a complete rundown of bands confirmed so far for Chicago’s Riot Fest, being held on September 14-16, after the jump. Tickets and passes for the festival can be purchased via its website.
