Festivals

This year’s California Metalfest was already shaping up to be a killer festival. Along with headliners Killswitch Engage, the festival’s sixth edition is boasting a lineup featuring As I Lay Dying, Asking Alexandria, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Black Veil Brides, Shadows Fall, Unearth, Suicide Silence, The Acacia Strain, The Faceless, Chiodos (reunited with singer Craig Owens), and many others. However, Killswitch Engage have found a way to make the California Metalfest VI even more special.

To celebrate its tenth anniversary, Killswitch Engage will be performing Alive Or Just Breathing in its entirety at the California Metalfest.  Ash Avildsen, founder of California Metalfest and Sumerian Records, had the following to say about the band’s special set:

Alive or Just Breathing is one of the most important and timeless albums for this era of heavy music. KsE’s special headlining set combined with the rest of the line-up is going to make for an incredible day of metal and memories. Having all these bands in the same place on one day is really exciting both as a fan and as a festival producer.”

Having toured the better part of the Summer on the Trespass America Festival, with singer Jesse Leach back in the group, performing Alive Or Just Breathing will be a perfect way for KSE to end the year (while also preoccupying us as we wait for a new album). Even without the special performance, though, this year’s California Metalfest is turning out to be the ultimate metalcore festival. Add on to the fact that wrestling legend Mick Foley and several TBA guests will be on hand as well, and you got yourself a pretty kickass event.

California Metalfest VI will be taking place on November 24 at the NOS Event Center in San Bernardino. Check out a complete rundown of the lineup after the jump, while pre-tickets are on sale now.
