Festivals

As one of the biggest metal festivals in America, Maryland Deathfest has had some ridiculously huge names on its roster over the past 10 years.  But for Maryland Deathfest XI, the awesome quotient has been upped. MDF XI’s organizers confirmed the final lineup today, spread out between Baltimore Soundstage and the former Sonar compound, and it’s a straight-up laundry list of metal’s heaviest hitters both underground and infamous.  While we won’t just copy the full list here, a few highlights and favorites of ours:

EXODUS

IHSAHN

THE MELVINS

Let the record show, this is going to rule.  Multi-day passes and Thursday-only tickets go on sale next Monday (15), at which point one final band playing Soundstage Thursday will be announced.  We were already freaking out about this when the first sixteen bands were announced in July, but at this rate, it’s hard not to wonder whether or not the final announcement will include a resurrected Cliff Burton.

Check out the entire festival lineup after the jump.
