Wattie Buchan, lead singer of  Scottish punk band The Exploited, was rushed to a hospital in Belgium on Friday, April 7th, and according to a post from the band, almost died. The singer, 59, had suffered a heart attack onstage in Lisbon, Portugal in 2014, and had quadruple heart bypass surgery following that incident. He’d recovered, and the band was on tour with The Casualties and Code Red on the fourth date of a month-long tour when it happened on Friday (7).

The tour will continue on without Wattie, with members of The Casualties and others filling in on vocals for him. One of the first and longest-lasting punk  bands, The Exploited formed in 1979, and may be best-known for their logo, which features a skull with a spiked mohawk not unlike the one Wattie has, Here’s the band’s Facebook post about their singer’s condition:
