I'm On A Boat

While details are still scant, Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival founder Kevin Lyman confirmed to Metal Insider that the Mayhem Festival cruise that Machine Head mentioned at the Golden Gods Awards is indeed happening. The floating festival will take place from December 7-10.”We are just excited to get to put this together,” he told us. “It has been a fun process for both of us and really allows us to expand the Mayhem brand and good times.” In addition to the already-announced lineup of Lamb of God, Anthrax, Machine Head and Suicide Silence, Lyman mentioned there would be additional bands playing from Metal Blade, Sumerian, Roadrunner and Century Media.

And it’s more than just four days of band performances. He mentioned that Korn’s Jonathan Davis and Slipknot’s Sid will be DJing as J-Devil and DJ Star Scream, respectively. There will also be a film festival presented by Slipknot’s Clown and Fangoria. And Clown will also be curating a charity art show. Given that 1/4 of Slipknot will already be on board and (at least) one other Roadrunner band will be playing, might Slipknot be one of the bands to be announced? We’ll have to wait to find out, but this sounds like a must-attend event from the relatively small amount of information we’ve gotten so far.

UPDATE: The full announcement about the Mayhem Festival Cruise will be made on Monday, April 30, with tickets going on sale Thursday, May 3
