Paul Gray’s Autopsy Results Inconclusive

In Memoriam

The Des Moines Register reports that an autopsy of Slipknot bassist Paul Gray revealed no cause of death. Urbandale IA police stated that the cause of death is still under investigation, and the Polk County Medical Examiner is awaiting the cause of toxicology tests. It could be four to six weeks before the tests come back. The autopsy did confirm earlier reports that there were no signs of any foul play or trauma. He had been dead for several hours when found yesterday around 10:50am.

While some media reports have jumped the gun by stating that he died of a drug overdose, it’s up to the tests to reveal that. At the end of the day, this is a sad ending for a man whose band was still at the top of their game. I mean, like Slipknot or hate them, they were as popular as ever, and still able to play arenas over a decade into their career. And with Gray as a founding member of the band, it’s not like he’s going to be an easy person to replace, even if there are nine members. We’ll bring you more news on Gray’s untimely death as we hear it.
