Sons Of Azrael guitarist Tony Lorenzo dies at 30

Posted by on March 9, 2017

It’s been a really tough couple of years for Buffalo death metal band Sons of Azrael. Guitarist and founding member Tony Lorenzo was shot by an armed robber back in 2011, leaving him paralyzed from the chest down. Less than a year later, the band’s vocalist, Joe Siracuse, died at the age of 29. And today, the band posted that Lorenzo has died.

It’s unclear how Lorenzo died, but he was only 30 years old. Other than the below picture, the band hasn’t said anything. Sons of Azrael released one album on Ironclad/Metal Blade, 2007’s The Conjuration of Vengeance. Our sympathy goes out to the friends and family of Lorenzo.

Can’t say anything other than how horrible this story is. He seemed like such a good guy … how positive the kid was even after the shit that happened to him. R.I.P. – I feel really sad about this.

I ran a story about Tony Lorenzo today RIP and his mom contacted me via a friend and asked that I change “paralyzed from the waist down,” to “paralyzed from the chest down.” I am writing to ask if you can make the same edits on the stories you published. That would be much appreciated.
