It’s been more than a decade since Lacuna Coil’s breakout hit “Heaven’s a Lie” put them in the limelight but the Italian metal band who formed in 1994 have six studio albums to date and are adding another to their catalog.

In follow-up to the band’s 2012 release Dark Adrenaline, Lacuna Coil have recruited producer Jay Baumgardner for the recording of their 7th studio album.Frontwoman Christina Scabbia seems more than energized about the new chapter for the band that includes the Sevendust and Evanescence producer. She commented in a news release:

“We’re swamped with the music already… LACUNA COIL is back baby!!!”

The recording process is planned for completion ahead of the band’s “Tragic Illusion Tour” in Europe beginning October 30 in Wolverhampton, UK. After hitting the European roads, the new year will see Lacuna Coil hitting the seas for ShipRocked, a rock cruise January 26th though the 30th sailing from Miami, FL to the Bahamas. Other bands set to perform on the ship include Five Finger Death Punch, Papa Roach, Three Days Grace, Device, Sevendust, In This Moment and Butcher Babies.
