In a recent video interview by Skulls N Bones, Napalm Death vocalist Mark “Barney” Greenway was asked if the band felt bigger than ever, even after 30 years of existence.

Greenway affirmed that it’s more than a feeling:

“You know, it’s not just a feeling. I mean, we’re selling more records right now than we ever have done. And that’s not just vinyl, as everybody’s seen it. For us it’s vinyl, CDs, everything is selling like really, really well. And when you consider, I think, we haven’t done anything to gain commercial advantage. In fact, we turn down stuff that could gain us a commercial advantage because of our ethos. I think then that’s kind of mind blowing again in a way, so, it just goes to prove that you stick to what you want to do, and not somethings that you might not feel comfortable with, and you live and die by your own decision.”

Napalm Death’s newest album, Apex Predator – Easy Meat, came out January 27, 2015 on Century Media Records. This is the band’s fifth full-length album with Century Media since 2005, so maybe their most recent label home has something to do with their current record sales. Either way, the album debuted on the sales chart in the top 100, so it’s not just old stuff that’s selling.

Being on a great North American tour called “Through Space And Grind” can’t hurt album sales, either. The band is on the road with now with Voivod, Exhumed, Iron Reagan, and Black Crown Initiate.
