It’s been five years since King Diamond released his last album, Give Me Your Soul…Please. Since then, Diamond has been slowly making his way back onstage following his triple-bypass heart surgery. Now it looks like the metal world will finally get some new King Diamond material, as the metal legend has signed a new recording deal with Metal Blade Records.

Metal Blade officially announced the signing of Diamond, which includes releasing his next three albums worldwide. Diamond himself had the following to say about his return to Metal Blade’s roster:

“This is gonna be awesome! Another perfect piece of the puzzle. We have the full backup of Metal Blade, and there’s an understanding between us that goes much, much deeper than before.

Our new business setup will noticeably benefit the fans in so many ways. You must have already noticed some of all the cool new stuff that is happening. Now we can’t wait to get out there and start touring again!”

As you may recall, Metal Blade served as Diamond and Mercyful Fate’s label home on and off over the past two decades. It’ll be interesting to see what this “new business setup” entails, but regardless we’re just exciting to know that a new King Diamond album and more touring is on the way.
