Legal Woes

While Anthrax has been touring Mayhem Fest this Summer, their drummer Charlie Benante has been sitting out to recover from a minor hand injury. This past weekend, though, an unfortunate turn of events allegedly occurred that led to Charlie and his wife Sandra’s arrest.

According to South Bend, Indiana’s WSBT, Benante and his wife were arrested this past Friday (July 27) for domestic battery in front of a child (presumed but unconfirmed to be their daughter Mia Charley). Arrest records indicate that the couple were picked up at the Hilton Garden Inn in Elkhart, IN, with a court date supposedly set for August 3. Both were reportedly released from the Elkhart County Jail this past Saturday (7/28).

It’s currently unclear as to what Charlie and his family were doing in Elkhart, IN, though he does currently reside in Illinois. At the moment, neither Charlie or Anthrax have commented on the matter. Although the mug shot seen above does confirm that the drummer and his wife were indeed arrested. Hopefully more will be revealed soon.
