Case Against Harley Flanagan In Cro-Mags Stabbing Starting To Crumble?

Posted by on October 2, 2012

This past summer was filled with unbelievably crazy moments. One of the most memorable, though, was the incident involving former Cro-Mags bassist Harley Flanagan stabbing current bassist Mike “The Gook” Couls and William Bererio. Many balked at Flanagan’s claim that the stabbing was in self-defense. However, convicting the Cro-Mags founder is reportedly proving to be more difficult than you’d expect.

Flanagan is currently facing one count of criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree and two counts of assault in the second degree. However, according to Vice.com, the State’s case against him has been adjourned to December 5. Apparently the ADA has yet to pick a grand jury, and supposedly lacks witness statements and testimonies. If the case doesn’t come together by December 8, then Flanagan will likely be able to walk on the charges.

It’s somewhat hard to believe that the ADA is having trouble finding enough witnesses who saw the altercation go down. It should also be noted, though, that Vice.com’s feature (which also included direct quotes from Flanagan) was obviously taking the former Cro-Mag’s side. Then again, one could argue that most of the media has taken a decidedly anti-Harley stance.
