Breaking news from Billboard reveals that the Washington State courts who read all the same sworn declarations we avidly consumed last week ruled to let the members of Queensryche who are not Geoff Tate continue to tour with the name. This does not mean that the band “won” the legal battle, but rather that the courts don’t agree with Tate that it will cause irreparable harm to the brand for the other members to tour as Queensryche while the lawsuits get hashed out. What this probably means is that they’ll never lose that right via the judicial system, and everyone will figure out some revenue structure to make all parties happy. This should be a win-win for everyone. It looks like the remaining members of the band understand what their hardcore fans want, and Geoff Tate has a great deal in place with Inside Out Music for fans of his solo music to get plenty of that as well.
