Someone At ArtistDirect Is Crushin’ On Five Finger Death Punch…

FiveFingerDeathPunchFive Finger Death Punch has a ton of fans, enough to possibly put them in the top 10 on this week’s sales charts. They also elicit violent rage from haters. But I don’t think even the most passionate 5FDP aficionado (they must have a nickname, right? “punchers”?) would place the band on the kind of artistic pedestal ARTISTdirect’s Rick Florino has, based on the over-the-top questions he posited in a recent interview.

There’s a real cinematic sentiment to the album. If War is the Answer were a movie, what would it be? It’s a lot like Reservoir Dogs too because there are five different voices coming together in this one cacophony of emotion.

The jump from ‘The Way of the Fist’ to ‘War is the Answer’ is massive. It’s similar to Pantera’s transition from ‘Cowboys from Hell’ to ‘Vulgar Display of Power’.

I hope they were nice enough to sign that poster Rick’s had hanging in his bedroom all summer.

UPDATE: An astute reader points out that 5FDP fans are called “knuckleheads,” which I’m disappointed in myself for not predicting.

They actually call their fans “Knuckleheads.” Ha ha ha

Wow! The haters (such as metalinsider) go to the extent of hating on other publications who don’t hate them. That’s a new level of trollness. Pathetic.
