Three years ago, the UK edition of Metal Hammer unleashed their top forty nü metal songs of all time. Yesterday (4), the list resurfaced online and it seems a few of these selections could raise a handful of arguments and debates. Check out their list below:

01) Limp Bizkit – “Break Stuff”

It’s surprising to see bands such as Alient Ant Farm, Hoobastank, Incubus, and Evanescence to make the list, even thought some of them were clearly marketed as such at the time. However, a few song selections including Linkin Park’s “Points of Authority,” Orgy’s “Blue Monday,” and Kid Rock’s “American Badass” could have changed to “One Step Closer,” “Stitches,” and “Bawitdaba.” Interesting to see Issues make the list, proving that nu-metal isn’t just a time period starting in the mid-to-late ’90s and ending a few years later.

Back in May, Spin revealed their top 30 nü metal songs, and it seems a little more authentic than Metal Hammer’s. Let’s face it, despite their similarities, they didn’t exclude bands Kittie and Sevendust. Check out the list below:
