Mastodon bring it back old school with ‘chopper mirror’ pre-order’

Posted by on June 6, 2014

Have you pre-ordered Mastodon’s Once More ‘Round the Sun yet? If not, the band have come up with a fun item to bundle with it. For $29.99, you can pick up the album along with a limited edition “prehistoric chopper mirror.” To be clear, we’re talking about a mirror that comes with custom artwork by Phil Guy of an ape riding a motorcycle. I’m sure the band isn’t suggesting you buy the “chopper” mirror to chop out anything on, even though the idea of the mirror itself, not to mention the old-school design, seems to be inspired by the hair metal and hedonism of the ’70s and ’80s. While the mirror looks like something you’d win at a carnival, there probably aren’t any Mastodon prizes being given out at carnivals these days, just rasta bananas.

In addition to the mirror, you’ll get a physical and digital version of the album, and digital singles of “High Road” and “Chimes at Midnight.”
