Metal By Numbers is a weekly column in which we look at the top metal sellers and debuts of the week.

Yeah, we know, we’re a little late on this, but better a little late than never. Plus, if you live on the East Coast, you probably don’t have electricity anyway. At any rate, Dethklok had the highest charting debut of last week, their first top 10-charting album. Unfortunately, it’s also the lowest sales they’ve had so far, but hey, a death metal album is in the top ten!

Dethklok, Dethalbum III (Williams Street) #10, 19,500 sold

Almost 20,000 record sold is pretty impressive, but not quite as impressive as the 45,ooo Dethalbum II sold or the 33,000 the first album sold. It’s way better than any other cartoon band has done that isn’t named Gorillaz though.

In Fear & Faith, In Fear And Faith (Rise) #131, 3,250 sold

The band’s third album is their first with original bassist Jarred DeArmes in the band since their original demo.

The HAARP Machine, Disclosure (Sumerian) #194, 2,100 sold

A cross between the other djentlemen on their label and a more death metal-like sound, this UK band’s first album has a pretty solid debut.

No Bragging Rights, Cycles (eOne) 1,100 sold

The band’s fifth album, and first for eOne, has a debut that’s worth at least bragging a little bit about.

Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza, Danza IIII: The Alpha – The Omega (Black Market Activities) 700 sold

I wonder what percentage of these sales of the band’s last album came from confused Who’s the Boss fans.

My Dying Bride, A Map of All Our Failures (Peaceville) 460 sold

I think selling this few copies of your eleventh album would probably go on the map somewhere.

Thy Art Is Murder, Hate (Skull ‘N Bones) 350 sold

KISS, Monster (UMe) #14, 17,000 sold

This record, which is one of the best-reviewed KISS albums in years, has a pretty solid second week.

Coheed And Cambria, The Afterman: Ascension (Hundred Handed) #40, 10,200 sold

While it’s a typically big second week drop, selling 10k is still  a pretty great second week.

Rock of Ages, Soundtrack (WaterTower Music) #48, 8,200 sold

Now that it’s on pay per view, this Tom Cruise dud might find a second audience. It’s soundtrack did.

Papa Roach, The Connection (Eleven Seven Music) #104, 4,100 sold

The band might have a new album out, but they weren’t able to tour behind it earlier because Jacoby Shaddix cut his voice into pieces.

Between The Buried And Me, The Parallax II: Future Sequence (Metal Blade) #108, 3,900 sold

The Future is still looking pretty good for BTBAM.

As I Lay Dying, Awakened (Metal Blade) #109, 3,900 sold

The only thing stronger than this band’s album sales is Tim Lambesis.

In This Moment, Blood (Century Media) #117, 3,500 sold

Century Media have the biggest-selling download of their career in this band’s terrible song “Blood.” It’s also a top ten active rock hit, so what do I know?

Rush, Clockwork Angels (Roadrunner) #146, 2,800 sold

With the band on the road, expect sales of this to continue. Oh yeah, and that Volkswagen commercial should add to the hazard of air drumming while driving.

Halestorm, The Strange Case Of… (Atlantic) #150, 2,700 sold

This band is still maintaining.

Five Finger Death Punch, American Capitalist (Prospect Park) #163, 2,600 sold
This album sold exactly the same amount as as last week.

Nonpoint, Nonpoint (Razor & Tie) #180, 2,200

If they’re still selling this many per week, it would be premature to call them a nonpoint.

Volbeat, Beyond Hell/Above Heaven (Universal) 2,000 sold

This album just keeps catching on. You can also pick up their first three albums on vinyl for record store day.

Texas In July, Texas In July, (Equal Vision) 1,000 sold

This album is one of the best metalcore releases out there.

Enslaved, RIITIIR (Nuclear Blast) 740 sold

It’d probably sell even better if their Led Zeppelin cover was on the album.

This Or The Apocalypse, Dead Years (eOne Music)  560 sold

Witchcraft, Legend (Nuclear Blast) 490 sold

Fun fact: This band formed in 2000 to record a tribute to Pentagram’s Bobby Liebling and Roky Erickson.

Texas Hippie Coalition, Peacemaker (Carved) 470 sold

Peacemaker? If Big Dad Ritch keeps it up, he might need a pacemaker.

Steve Harris, British Lion (UmE) 450 sold

Everyone likes the music on this album. The vocals, not as much.

We ran out of things to say about this band a while ago. Sorry.

Sylosis, Monolith (Nuclear Blast) 380 sold

This will probably pick up, due to the forthcoming tour with Lamb of God that kicks off tomorrow.

AxeWound, Vultures (Search and Destroy) 380 sold

This side project seems to be doing pretty solidly, given that it’s heavier than Bullet for my Valentine, and Cancer Bats aren’t exactly a household name yet.

The Devin Townsend Project, Epicloud (HevyDevy) 340 sold

The cult of Devin continues, and his tour with Gojira should just help get his name out a little more.
