It’s no exaggeration to say that the internet moves faster than the speed of light. On Sunday, a clip of Leonardo DiCaprio from Wolf of Wall Street set to Meshuggah with him making Jens Kidman-like facial expressions set the web on fire. It’s garnered 1.8 million views in just five days, which pushes it beyond metal meme and onto a full-on phenomenon. That’s why likely as soon as the band were announced as one of few heavy bands to be playing Bonnaroo this year, a petition has been started to get Leonardo DiCaprio to get on stage with them. The petition states that “Leonardo DiCaprio needs to fully embrace his newly found importance in the metal scene by joining Meshuggah on stage for at least one song. He must wear a suit, and everyone in the crowd must pound their chests.”

The petition requests 665,991 signatures, and so far, it’s gotten nearly 700. That’s not a ton, but if just one third of the people that have seen the video so far sign the petition, it’ll be close to a done deal! If DiCaprio is down there and he gets word of how popular the video is, who knows what might happen? There have definitely been dumber petitions that we’ve signed for stuff, so head on over and sign your name. We have.
