Crowbar announce new bassist, as Kirk Windstein leaves Down

Posted by on October 1, 2013

goldenIt was announced a few weeks ago that Crowbar bassist Patrick Bruders was leaving the band, presumably to concentrate on his bass duties in sludge supergroup Down. Now, as Crowbar announce their new bassist, vocalist/guitarist Kirk Windstein has decided to exit Down to concentrate on Crowbar, Apparently, Honky guitarist Bobby Ed Landgraf is now playing guitar in Windstein’s place alongside Pepper Keenan. Just yesterday, Anselmo posted a short clip of Down in the studio, but about an hour ago, Windstein posted the following on Crowbar’s Facebook page.

For months now I have been posting that I am concentrating on Crowbar 100% FULL TIME… 2014 marks the 25th anniversary of Crowbar and its a great feeling to put my heart and soul into something that I created so long ago. We are entering the studio 12/16 to record our 10th full length record, look for a late Spring release on E1..See y’all on the road with Crowbar!!!

In the meantime,Jeff Golden has been announced as the new bassist in Crowbar. “After 100’s of bass video submissions and many jam sessions, we have decided that Jeff Golden is the man!,” the band posted on their Facebook page last week. Golden is 32 and from Connecticut. He currently lives in Florida. It’s not immediately known what other bands, if any, he’s played bass in. Crowbar is planning on heading to the studio before the year’s out to record their next album. If the fact that they’re in the studio now is any indication, Down’s next EP will be out before Crowbar’s new one.
