Crowbar bassist Patrick Bruders quits the band

Posted by on September 3, 2013

CrowbarPatrick Bruders, bassist for Crowbar, has officially resigned from the band, according to Crowbar’s Facebook page. It’s unclear at this point whether this means that he’ll also be leaving Down, the Phil Anselmo-led band that he’s been in with Crowbar’s Kirk Windstein since 2011.

In the same statement that Bruders had quit, the band also put out a call for a new bass player via Twitter and Facebook. Today the band has followed up with a post to assure fans that the band will forge ahead. It read:

We have a few prospects for bass player.. not a worry. Our main concern is Tommy getting better…that’s all that matters at this time. Keep sending positive energy!!!! Conquer /Prevail -/

Crowbar’s drummer Tommy Buckley, also of Soilent Green, is recovering from major prostate surgery following a cancer diagnosis. Crowbar as a band has faced previous upheavals between members when breakup allegations arose after band confrontations were aired out by guitarist Kirk Windstein over social media in July 2012.
