Besides his own band Philm, which has only released one album in 2012, and performing on the track “Obsessed” from Sepultura’s most recent album, we really haven’t gotten many updates on what ex-Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo has been up to musically lately. We know that he’s performed with the Golden State Pops, and also will be making music for a new Disney pilot cartoon. Now we’ve gotten word that Dave will be joining the California hardcore-punk band Amen for their next album and tour, according to Music Radar:

“I’m very proud to have been asked to be part of this amazing production with (vocalist) Casey (Chaos) and (producer) Ross (Robinson). My career in thrash was created from my love of the punk genre. It’s aggressive, honest and needed. I’m looking forward to performing with Amen before returning to Europe with Philm in September.”

Now it seems we will have new Dave Lombardo material with both Amen and Philm to look forward to soon.
