When we caught up with Landmine Marathon vocalist Grace Perry this past summer at the Orion Festival, she gave no indication that she was in any way unhappy with the band. That’s why we were a little surprised to read that she’s exited the band and already been replaced by Krysta Martinez, who’s also in Portland band Transient. However, Perry has amicably departed the band to pursue “non musical endeavors,” which could possibly include more voice work like the kind she did on Ghost Rider 2.

The band have already recorded a new version of “Dead Horses” with Martinez, which you can check out above. Martinez ably fills Perry’s shoes. This is what she had to say about being tapped for vocal duties.

“I’m stoked to be creating music with Landmine Marathon and look forward to hitting the road with them in coming months. Grace is an amazing vocalist, and filling her shoes is a great challenge. Things have been incredibly enjoyable so far and the best is surely yet to come.”

For comparison’s sake, we’ve put the original “Dead Horses” video after the jump. Good luck to Perry and Martinez.
