Greg Puciato Is Also Collaborating With Max Cavalera

Metal Musical Chairs

Yesterday, we reported on how a Twitter love fest lead to Devin Townsend and The Dillinger Escape Plan’s Greg Puciato collaborating. Late last night, though, Puciato confirmed via his Facebook page that he was working with another metal legend as well: Max Cavalera (Soulfly, Cavalera Conspiracy, ex-Sepultura). Puciato posted the following message:

“Working on some guest vocals for Devin Townsend’s new album, cranking out riffs for an album of thrash brutality with Max Cavalera, plotting DEP shit with Ben and Liam. Caffeinated to the eyeballs. Ducking out for an hour to shred at the gym then back to the grind.”

Unlike the Townsend partnership, though, Puciato working with Cavalera doesn’t totally pop out of nowhere. Puciato has previously talked about the possibility of collaborating with the ex-Sepultura frontman on a project in a similar vein to Nailbomb (Cavalera’s project with Fudge Tunnel’s Alex Newport). The two have also collaborated on the Soulfly song “Rise Of The Fallen” (which appeared on 2010’s Omen) and have been admirers of each other for some time. Regardless, this should still be exciting for fans of both groups to hear. We’ll keep you posted when more is revealed, but for now check out Puciato performing with Soulfly at 14th Annual D-Low Memorial Show in Tempe, AZ (August 28th, 2010) after the jump.
