The Sword’s Canadian Border Issues Confirm That They Have A New Drummer

Posted by on July 25, 2011

The Sword really can’t get a break with their drummers. The Texas stoner rockers were forced to cancel their appearance at the Heavy T.O. festival in Toronto this past weekend due to their drummer being denied entry into Canada. The band confirmed the unfortunate news via Twitter saying “Sorry Canada, your government won’t let our new drummer into your country. #thisblows.”

However, one fan via Twitter noted that The Sword had just played at the Sled Island Music and Arts festival in Calgary, AB, Canada back at the end of June. In response, The Sword re-tweeted and revealed that they once again have a new drummer on board. This certainly comes as a surprise since we were still under the impression that Kevin Fender, who replaced Trivett Wingo back in November of 2010, was still The Sword’s drummer. It is currently unclear as to who the new man behind the kit is and whether he is a permanent member or not. Getting denied at the Canadian border, though, isn’t a good start.
