slayer gojiraIn honor of their first performance at the Palladium in 25 years, Slayer are putting together a special set comprised of their genre-impacting songs  for an “Old School Slayer” night Sunday. A release on behalf of the band confirms selections from Reign In Blood, South of Heaven, and Seasons In The Abyss will be performed at the Los Angeles venue.

But guitarist Kerry King is still maintaining an element of shock, not giving away all of the details on what specific anthems will be played. He said in a statement,

“We’re still putting together the set list, but we’re going to make sure we play one or two rarities as well.  Should be a lot of fun for the band as well as the fans.”

Slayer perform Sunday and Monday at the Palladium as part of their North American tour  that kicks off Friday in Las Vegas. The tour that was originally supposed to start in Alaska, but instead started with a cancellation, features Gojira and 4ARM as openers. This might just be us, but wouldn’t most fans want an “Old School Slayer” night for the entire tour?
