Asking Alexandria logoAsking Alexandria started teasing last week that they would soon reveal who was going to be their new singer. Now comes official word that Danny Worsnop’s replacement will be (drum roll please)… Denis Shaforostov. But that’s not all fans got, as Asking Alexandria has also premiered a brand new song called “I Won’t Give In”.

Shaforostov had been rumored to be the new singer for some time now (and unlike some rumors, it seemed pretty likely). Now the lyric video for “I Won’t Give In”, which includes statements from all five members, confirms that the former Down & Dirty/Make Me Famous is indeed the new guy. “I just want to say thank you to every one of you who is reading this,” Shaforostov says in the statement that appears in the lyric video below. “I feel truly blessed and proud to become a part of such an amazing family. You guys stick with AA through the hardest times so thank you for the faith you’ve got for Ben, Cam, Sam, James and me. I’m extremely excited to unleash the beast the new Asking Alexandria is! We’re on the edge of a whole new journey and it couldn’t feel better.”

In an interview that appears in the new issue of Kerrang, guitarist Ben Bruce further raves about his new singer, saying “He’s an incredibly talented vocalist, from the multiple wide range of screams that Asking Alexandria obviously needs and will continue to have, and his singing and range is out of this world. He’s been a fan of the band for a long time, so he’s familiar with all our old songs, and he really cares about the band. He’s a passionate, cool guy; it’s the perfect scenario.”

Shaforostov will be making his live debut with the band on May 31 at the Manchester Academy 3 in the UK, followed by this summer’s Warped Tour. More info about a new album will likely arrive soon, but in the meantime check out the new song “I Won’t Give In” below.
